Coo-ee Heritage Centre

The recent unique construction of the Coo-ee Heritage Centre of rammed earth walls and floors tells the story of the famous 1915 Coo-ee March, and houses the "Allan Wise" Local History Gallery, "Joy Trudget" Koori Gallery, as well as travelling and local exhibitions.

Coo-ee Festival - October long weekend

Commemorates the Coo-ee March when, in 1915, 35 men from the Gilgandra district set off to march to Sydney to enlist in the army. At each town along their journey, the men cried "Coo-ee", which is the bushman's call for help, to encourage others to join them. By the time they reached Sydney, the numbers had swelled to 263 recruits. The festival weekend includes a bush poetry evening, main street busking, Saturday street parade, the NSW Coo-ee Calling Championships, Rotary Markets, live entertainment, and much more.

Dubbo Zoo

There are a variety of fascinating keeper talks and feeding times to see at Dubbo Zoo, including the Cheetahs, Rhinos, Cape Hunting Dogs and more.

Warrumbungle National Park

See ancient volcanic remnants from the Grand High Tops track, one of Australia's great walks. The volcanic cliffs are popular for rock climbing (not permitted on The Breadknife; you'll need a permit elsewhere).
